When shooting an interview, you have to be able to balance interpersonal connection with the person you’re interviewing’s connection to the space you’re in when it represents them.
I try to find ways to frame the environment and light the interviews to create as natural a look as possible. I treat it like a portrait session and the biggest tip I can give to anyone starting out is to spend time getting to know the person briefly and put them at ease beforehand; it’ll make everything run much more smoothly.
